BAILIFFS have seized assets from Zamtel Limited offices in Ndola after the Industrial Relations Court issued an order against the company for failing to pay K77.9 million interest to 308 former employees.

Zamtel chief marketing officer Evans Muhanga could not comment, saying he was writing examinations.

The seizure on Monday follows Friday’s ruling by Mr Justice Derrick Mulenga when the IRC sat at the Ndola High Court.
Mr Justice Mulenga also threw out an appeal by Zamtel and the government not to pay the interest to the former workers.
