Zambians for Empowerment and Development (ZED) has commended President Edgar Lungu for taking stern measures to quickly restore law and order in communities affected by riots.

ZED President Fred Mutesa has also appealed to political parties to desist from seeking cheap publicity by making political mileage out of the situation.

Dr. Mutesa says in times like these, it is important that even opposition political parties offer the security wings maximum cooperation and support as they seek to restore order in the communities affected.

He states that what has been witnessed in the last few days is alien to Zambia’s culture as the country has always prided itself as a welcoming and hospitable society.

Dr. Mutesa has further extended his sympathy and solidarity to the Rwandese community in Zambia who have incurred loss of property through barbaric looting.
